“I am a human being, and thus nothing human is alien to me.”
― Terence (Terentius)
As a therapist, my goal is to create an environment in which you feel you can share whatever thoughts and feelings you are experiencing, no matter how distressing. I believe through the process of growing an openness to and acceptance of these thoughts and feelings, you will get to know and accept yourself. Each person has their own path toward this knowing of self. Our work together is discovering which path makes the most sense to you.
My approach to therapy is rooted in Buddhist philosophy which teaches that everything changes, always. Bringing awareness to change, observing and accepting it without judgment, creates an opportunity to see which way the currents are flowing and go with them.
Prior to becoming a therapist, I had a creative career, working as a filmmaker, new media entrepreneur, and corporate media executive. Collaborating with my therapy clients I have learned beyond all doubt that there is no greater creative exercise than relating to and understanding the experience of another.
I work with couples and individuals, offering sessions both in-person or remote. With couples, I use the framework of emotionally focused therapy (EFT). When working with individuals, I take a more integrative approach to therapy. My experience includes working with complex trauma, addiction, depression, anxiety, grieving, as well as acute mental health issues like schizophrenia.
