Asja Sever (she/her), AMFT, APCC

I work with couples who want to strengthen their connection, improve communication, and navigate the challenges that naturally arise in intimate relationships. Whether you’re feeling caught in recurring conflict, struggling to rebuild trust, facing life transitions, or simply wanting to deepen your relationship, I strive to create a space where both partners feel heard, understood, and respected.

My approach is grounded in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), an evidence-based model that helps couples understand the emotional patterns that keep them stuck and develop more secure, responsive ways of relating to one another. I also integrate psychodynamic, relational, somatic, and mindfulness-based approaches, tailoring therapy to the unique needs of each couple. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), which informs my understanding of how past experiences and nervous system responses can shape present-day relationships.

I earned my Master’s degree in Integral Counseling Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS). My clinical work is rooted in curiosity, compassion, and the belief that meaningful change occurs when people feel emotionally safe enough to be authentic with themselves and with each other. I am committed to ongoing professional development to ensure I provide thoughtful, effective, and evidence-informed care.

Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy spending time with loved ones, traveling, and cooking. These experiences continually remind me of the importance of connection, presence, and shared moments – the same values I hope to help couples cultivate in their relationships.
