Margo Green (she/her), AMFT

As a therapist, I offer a warm, compassionate, and collaborative space where we can work together toward healing, growth, and wholeness. I welcome people of all ages and backgrounds as they navigate challenges related to belonging, identity, grief, loss, life transitions, parenting, anxiety, depression, loneliness, relationships, and spirituality. Drawing from Gestalt Therapy, I take a holistic approach, helping individuals build awareness and make meaningful choices that lead to change and growth.

As a couples therapist, I am dedicated to helping partners deepen their connection and create more fulfilling relationships. It’s easy to get stuck in patterns that leave both people feeling distant or misunderstood. Together, we explore these dynamics, uncover the emotions beneath them, and foster clearer, more compassionate communication. My goal is to create a space where both partners feel truly seen, heard, and empowered to engage with each other with openness and authenticity.

Becoming a psychotherapist was a meaningful third-act journey for me, shaped by my personal experiences with relationships, marriage, parenting, aging parents, and transnational life. I have also benefited from good therapy myself. Through these experiences, I’ve come to believe that transformation happens in a therapeutic relationship rooted in kindness and presence—where we feel deeply seen and accepted for who we truly are. This is the essence of the therapy I provide.

I trained at Church Street Integral Counseling Center, where I developed a holistic approach that integrates mind, body, and spirit, emphasizing present-moment awareness and somatic experience to support clarity and authenticity. My educational background includes a B.A. in Languages from the International Christian University in Tokyo and an M.A. in Clinical Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco.

I have called San Francisco home since immigrating to the U.S. from Australia many years ago. In my free time, I enjoy hiking in nature, practicing yoga, and traveling. I am passionate about my work and feel privileged to support my clients on their journeys of self-discovery and growth.
